Pendock Estates

Pendock Estates is a family run farming based firm. Over the last fifteen years, with the huge changes in the Agricultural sector, we have looked to diversification to best utilise the assets at our disposal, be this land, forestry or redundant buildings. Some redundant buildings have been converted to provide secure storage for cars, motorhomes, caravans and buses. Other redundant buildings now provide premises for local businesses and craftsmen to practice their trades. Woodlands are starting to be used to run woodchip heating plants to provide hot water and central heating to a number of properties on farm, thus negating the need for fossil fuel use in this sphere.

We have also identified the need to address the problems caused by huge amounts of biodegradable materials going to landfill instead of being recycled to provide a more environmentally friendly resource. At the moment we are focused on recycling Green waste to provide an alternative product to use on farm enabling us to reduce the amount of artificial fertiliser applied to the land. As well as benefiting the environment this also increases the biodiversity of the soil. The next step is to produce this material to a recognised standard so as to be able to market the product for use in horticulture as well as agriculture.

We are also specialising in high quality forage aimed at the equine market. By putting together a quality mixture of grass varieties in our swards we can provide a high end product aimed at the professional equine market.
